The final day of the @zagros.mountaintrail thru hike was a walk up from Choman to the Mt. Halgurd base camp. Along the way we enjoyed a breakfast of bread dipped in a mixture of tahini and date syrup, called dipsorashiy. It's been a staple that's kept us going for the nearly 220km of trail.
Arriving at Mt. Halgurd base camp was a big moment for us all, after 5 years of work and thousands of kilometres of scouting, we took the last steps of the first ever thru hike of the trail. We are filled with gratitude to the many wonderful people whose kindness and support have brought this trail into being. We've now proven that the trail ‘works’ and are excited for the next stages of trail development.
