On December 19 and 20, the Abraham Path Initiative did what no one else has done this Holiday Season: we went on a walking tour of Bethlehem, Live Online. Bethlehem-born Hazem Bannoura guides us while Bethlehem resident Noor Hodaly, camerawoman, shows us the storied city where many believe Jesus was born. We walk together in real time down Star Street to Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity. Bethlehem should be teeming with tourists this time of year; we are the only visitors. Meet Sami, who inherited a coffee shop from his father and cooks up a great cuppa, Khader, a Muslim who makes the best gluhwine in town, and Father Issa from the Church of the Nativity, who’s ecumenical message of peace and hope rings loud and clear.
